It’s always the case for me, that when I live in a city I take it for granted so I was super happy when I was invited by Licor 43 to tour this beautiful city and get to know the sweet Licor for myself in the process. The day started at a really great Spanish restaurant called Faro and continued on through a tour of Gendarmenmarkt, Brandenburger Tor, east Side Gallery and The Miele Cafe for a super interesting class in molecular cooking by top chefs. As Licor 43 is from Spain, everything was Spanish themed so naturally we made some paella with a the modern twist of molecular cooking (basically adding a calcium based powder to the food to change the textures of foods and sauces) all the while sipping delicious Licor 43 in a variation of drinks and fruity shots. I think I tried the licor in every possible combination, including coffee which was my favorite as the licor itself has a slight caramel taste to it. It truly was a fun packed day, made all the more special by the company of my wonderful hubby who I brought with me to thank him for all the hard work he puts into taking my photo’s for the blog. We truly had an amazing time cooking, eating, and drinking, so…muchas gracias Licor 43!
