Jardin Majorelle

Jardin Majorelle is a must visit when going to Marrakech and every well informed traveller knows that this is also called the Yves Saint Laurent house. It was created by the French expatriate Jaques Majorelle and then bought by the Yves Saint Laurent – Pierre Berge foundation later on to preserve it. Yves Saint Laurent’s ashes were scattered in these beautiful, peaceful gardens. Perhaps the most impressive part is how the bright blues contrast with the vast green gardens and work together to create this colorful oasis in the middle of the city.

It takes about 20 minutes to get there from the Medina and is the perfect place to spend a peaceful morning walking around. Contrary to popular belief, it’s not that big so it’s definitely something that can be done in a few hours and doesn’t take up the entire day.

I wanted to wear something casual but also nice since I knew we would take a ton of pictures there. I wore a super easy maxi skirt which was also really fresh and airy, together with a denim shirt and some leopard print flats.
