I have a ‘less is more’ approach to skincare in general. I remove all make up, wash with a milk based cleanser and a soft natural bristle brush and then apply serum and moisturiser. And if I’m honest… sometimes I don’t even make sure all my make up is off. Guilty. I’m not big on anti ageing products unless they have very simple lightweight formulas that don’t mess with my sensitive skin so I like to stick to simple skincare that hydrates and leaves the skin glowing and soft.
And my biggest skincare secret is that I only wash my skin at night and in the mornings I just spash on some water on to take off the excess night cream and pat it dry. Over washing my skin takes away natural essential oils but everyone’s skin is different. It’s about doing what’s best for you!
Recently I’ve tried 111Skin’s Antioxidant Booster serum and Space Anti Age Day Cream and I really love how lightweight it is but it still leaves my skin plump and hydrated hours after I’ve applied it. The brand actually has one ingredient used in the skincare for astronauts to deal with the harsh environments of outer space… yes this is space age technology people! They discovered that skin ages faster in space because of environmental extremes. For that reason they collaborated with space scientists responsible for the wellbeing of astronauts and together they created the patented NAC Y² formula. What I personally like about it is that it has natural ingredients like grape seed extract and they’re very rich in antioxidants and skin brightening ingredients…nothing too complicated.
I have yet to try the brightening face mask which looks really amazing as well, a perfect pick-me-up after a long haul flight but will let you guys know how that goes next month when I’m on the go again.
